# Wildlife Risk Analysis
Preparing a wildlife risk assessment process at an airport is a regulatory requirement for Canadian airports and for all those following ICAO standards.
FALCON uses Canadian and international standards in analyzing wildlife risks at an airport, but our team has taken the process further by developing an SMS-based approach for these risk assessments.
This method was specifically developed by FALCON for the needs of the Canadian Armed Forces and, since 2009, it has been adapted for use in civil aviation.
Our approach thus provides the client with an understanding of the risk on a quantitative basis allowing them to make operational decisions that take into account the integration of important risk elements associated with wildlife: the types of aircraft present, the type of birds, the habitats present at the airport, the seasonality of wildlife, etc.

# Land Use Risk Analysis
More and more airports have zoning regulations that govern the creation of wildlife attractions around the airport. Depending on the context, certain land uses that may be attractive to wildlife in one location may not be attractive or controlled in another. Our experts therefore assess the hazards associated with land use in the bird hazard zone, the area governed by the zoning regulations or any other plot of land on or near the airport territory to guide you in best practices and offer you tailored recommendations to ensure that your objectives are achieved.

# Program Evaluation and Audit
FALCON shares its expertise with all types of airports (international, regional, military or other). A complete assessment of the existing wildlife management program ensures that the airport benefits from the maximum necessary benefits related to wildlife management while meeting all regulatory requirements and integrating SMS into their operations.

# Wildlife Risk Assessment Software
Risk assessment is critical to risk management and informed decision-making to mitigate them. FALCON has developed a semi-quantitative method based on a set of variables, such as observation frequency and species behavior, aircraft types, number of movements, etc., to assess the value of wildlife risk more accurately with improved reliability of results. Using the WRAP, you will be able, independently or with the assistance of our experts, to clearly identify the level of risk associated with your environment and the species that frequent it.
