# Management of Nuisance Wildlife
The goal of this training is to teach you the basics of effective wildlife management so that you can actively participate in solving your wildlife problem. It is intended, for example, for municipalities facing cohabitation problems with Canada geese who wish to better understand the origin of the problem and acquire the knowledge to manage it themselves. Our trainers create trainings adapted to your reality and your challenges on the ground.
# Wildlife Management for Airports
Since December 31, 2006, the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) require that airport operators provide training to any person with functions related to wildlife management, at least once every five years (CARs, section 302.307). FALCON offers wildlife management trainings that meet regulatory requirements and are recognized by Transport Canada and ICAO.
These trainings, offered since 1998, are intended for all types of airports (international, regional, military, etc.), and for various types of professionals such as firefighters, supervisors, airport managers, wildlife management officers, air traffic controllers, maintenance crews and pilots.
They cover regulatory requirements, the safe use of wildlife control methods, the implementation of Security Systems (SMS), key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of wildlife management programs in place, and more. Case studies tailored to your airport are presented. Participants receive a training manual and a certificate is given to them at the end of the training.
# Implementation of Performance Indicators
Integrating Safety Management Systems (SMS) into wildlife management programs remains a challenge for many managers. This training will help your organization manage wildlife risks, establish objectives, a means of planning and performance measurement. Key components of a SMS should include: a safety management plan, documentation management, safety monitoring, training, quality assurance and emergency response preparations. Through this training, FALCON can help you build your own SMS tailored to your organization and designed for wildlife.
# Writing a Wildlife Management Plan
Writing an airport wildlife management plan is a complex task that requires a certain amount of expertise. This training presents the best practices related to writing the plan and lists what should be included. It discusses the sources of information to use, the process of developing the plan as well as keeping it up to date. All so that your plan is as complete as possible and based on a rigorous risk analysis of the hazards present on the air side, but also in the bird hazard zones surrounding the airport.
# Raising Awareness of Cohabitation with Wildlife
Many human interventions will have an impact on wildlife, whether in an urban environment or rather in a natural environment. Our trainers will explain your regulatory obligations, their implications and how to comply with them.
This personalized training is intended for managers as well as workers and presents the mitigation measures that are desirable to implement when cohabitation problems arise, depending on the animal species involved, the time of year, the type of disturbance expected, etc. These cohabitation problems can affect both protected species and species considered nuisances such as gulls, pigeons or geese.

# Safe Use of Pyrotechnics
Pyrotechnic devices are very effective and represent one of the simplest control techniques. However, most birds quickly get used to the various control methods used. If used incorrectly, the pyrotechnic method can quickly become ineffective and very costly.
During this training, our trainers demonstrate the most effective method to get the most out of pyrotechnics. They will also advise you on the best type of cartridges to use depending on the problem encountered (proximity to the neighborhood, control schedule, target species, resources, etc.). Safe use, maintenance and cleaning are all topics that are covered during this training. This training can include a theoretical portion and a practical portion, depending on your needs. FALCON can also take care of ordering pyrotechnic equipment from its supplier.
# Safe Use of Wildlife Management Tools
A fully effective wildlife management strategy combines multiple methods and tools. Our trainers are here to teach you how to use them safely and effectively to achieve maximum efficiency from each.
